For decades we have welcomed new immigrants to our American "melting pot." We respect those who come here peacefully to pursue their American Dream. But Americans have noticed lately that modern problems associated with illegal immigration are at a crisis point. Taxpayers are now suffering the consequences.

Costs of social services for the estimated 21 million illegal immigrants in this country are approaching $400 billion. We educate 4.2 million children of illegals at a cost of $13.8 billion. There have been almost 2 million anchor babies born in this country since 2002, with labor and delivery costs of between $3 and 6 billion. There are currently 360,000 illegals in our prisons and we have spent $1.4 billion to incarcerate them since 2001.

In Prince William County near Washington, D.C., ICE can't deport criminal illegals fast enough and has actually asked its local jails to slow down on referring them. Jurisdiction over illegal immigration lies at the federal level, yet many municipalities are struggling with the compounding problems of mandated costs and tied hands.

My office has heard from at least one sheriff in my district considering seeking compensation from the Federal government for the cost of so many illegal immigrant inmates that wouldn't be here if the Federal government was doing its job and protecting our borders. The problems are widespread.

One thing is certain: If we subsidize them, they will come. We have rolled out the social services red carpet, so it is no surprise that many from other countries are eager to come take advantage of our very generous system.

We must return to the American principle of personal responsibility. We must expect those who come here to take care of themselves and respect our laws. Not only is this the right thing to do for our overtaxed citizens, but we simply have no choice. We can't afford these policies anymore.

Since we are $60 trillion in debt, there should be no taxpayer-paid benefits for non-citizens. My bill, the Social Security for American Citizens Only Act, stops non-citizens from collecting Social Security Benefits. This bill, by the way, picked up three new cosponsors this week and is gaining momentum.

Also, we should not be awarding automatic citizenship to children born here minutes after their mothers illegally cross the border. It just doesn't make sense. The practice of birthright citizenship is an aberration of the original intent of the 14th amendment, the purpose of which was never to allow lawbreakers to bleed taxpayers of welfare benefits. I have introduced HJ Res 46 to address this loophole.

Other Western countries such as Australia, France, and England have stopped birth-right citizenship. It is only reasonable that we do the same. We must also empower local and state officials to deal with problems the Federal government can't or won't address.

Actions like this are a matter of national security at this point.

Illegal immigration is draining and frustrating the American taxpayer. I will continue to work for a solution that does not reward those who break our laws.

Barack Obama is the most pro-abortion presidential candidate ever.

He is so pro-abortion that he refused as an Illinois state senator to support legislation to protect babies who survived late-term abortions because he did not want to concede -- as he explained in a cold-blooded speech on the Illinois Senate floor -- that these babies, fully outside their mothers' wombs, with their hearts beating and lungs heaving, were in fact "persons."

"Persons," of course, are guaranteed equal protection of the law under the 14th Amendment.

In 2004, U.S. Senate-candidate Obama mischaracterized his opposition to this legislation. Now, as a presidential frontrunner, he should be held accountable for what he actually said and did about the Born Alive Infants Bill.

State and federal versions of this bill became an issue earlier this decade because of "induced labor abortion." This is usually performed on a baby with Down's Syndrome or another problem discovered on the cusp of viability. A doctor medicates the mother to cause premature labor. Babies surviving labor are left untreated to die.

Jill Stanek, who was a nurse at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, Ill., testified in the U.S. Congress in 2000 and 2001 about how "induced labor abortions" were handled at her hospital.

"One night," she said in testimony entered into the Congressional Record, "a nursing co-worker was taking an aborted Down's Syndrome baby who was born alive to our Soiled Utility Room because his parents did not want to hold him, and she did not have the time to hold him. I couldn't bear the thought of this suffering child lying alone in a Soiled Utility Room, so I cradled and rocked him for the 45 minutes that he lived."

In 2001, Illinois state Sen. Patrick O'Malley introduced three bills to help such babies. One required a second physician to be present at the abortion to determine if a surviving baby was viable. Another gave the parents or a public guardian the right to sue to protect the baby's rights. A third, almost identical to the federal Born Alive Infant Protection Act President Bush signed in 2002, simply said a "homo sapiens" wholly emerged from his mother with a "beating heart, pulsation of the umbilical cord or definite movement of voluntary muscles" should be treated as a "'person,' 'human being,' 'child' and 'individual.'"

Stanek testified about these bills in the Illinois Senate Judiciary Committee, where Obama served. She told me this week he was "unfazed" by her story of holding the baby who survived an induced labor abortion.

On the Illinois Senate floor, Obama was the only senator to speak against the baby-protecting bills. He voted "present" on each, effectively the same as a "no."

I read his book, trying to give him the benefit of the doubt (not about his wild claims to be one of the two witnesses but just for basic biblical knowledge every minister in God's Church ought to have and share), and it's nothing but truth mixed with error, just like the pagans have always done.

Ron Weinland goes off the deep end, however, with his vain attempt to spiritualize everything away that disagrees with his perverted interpretation of things, and while trying to act like an expert on Hebrew and Passover proves just the opposite.

Weren't we warned about such false prophets out to steal a following for themselves? How deaf, dumb and blind can those folks be to just sit there and not at least ask, in all sincerity, "WHY do you think you're one of the Two Witnesses?" Not just taking his word for it like good cult members. And seeing the errors in his work (it's not the Work of God), folks ought to flee such Babylon and avoid it like the plague. But then brethren in the Philadelphia Church of God continue to let Gerald Flurry accumulate lofty titles to himself...

May such folks REPENT and come back down to Earth and support God's Work that prepares to return to Jerusalem where it all began.

God stirred up Theodore Herzl to inspire the Jewish people with the biblical idea of having a Jewish State again. He wrote and spoke about it extensively, planting the seed of holy imagination in Judah's mind.

Later, during the British Mandate, the British began to "look favorably" upon the establishment of an independent Jewish Homeland, watering that holy seed. The Balfour Declaration was part of a divine mandate to restore Judah to "Palestine" (a satanic word the Romans used in an evil attempt to erase our father Israel's name off the map -- Ps. 83:4).

Rabbi Meir Kahane was born in New York City in 1932. He studied at the Mir Yeshiva in Brooklyn, receiving rabbinic ordination in 1956. That same year, he completed his law studies at New York Law School, and he subsequently received a master's degree in international law from New York University. After serving as a congregational rabbi, he founded the Jewish Defense League in 1968 in order to combat the rise in antisemitism. Concerned about the alienation and assimilation of Jewish youth, Rabbi Kahane spent two decades touring American college campuses, exhorting Jewish students to learn about Judaism, make aliya to Israel and stand up proudly as Jews. In 1970, he spearheaded a campaign of Jewish activism that led to the emigration of tens of thousands of opressed Jews from the Soviet Union. He entered the political arena in Israel when he made aliya in 1971 and was a member of the Israeli Knesset from 1984 to 1988. He wrote several best-selling books, including Never Again!, Why Be Jewish? and The Story of the Jewish Defense League. The prosperity of Britain and the United States in the 19th and 20th centuries fueled the popular belief that the British and American peoples are in fact the descendants of the lost 10 tribes. This movement came to be popularly known as British-Israelism.

In the United States, where the idea of "manifest destiny"-the belief that it was the nation's destiny to expand from shore to shore-was already firmly entrenched, advocates of British-Israelism promoted the biblical explanation for the nation's unexplained growth and prosperity. Britain and the United States, they concluded, were recipients of the unconditional birthright of Joseph.

In recent times some have associated British-Israelism with the modern negative connotations of imperialism. Critics even allege that those who embraced this reasoning were only seeking a salve for their conscience to justify their imperialist tendencies. Such accusation, however, is simply not in keeping with the thinking of the 19th century. Those who project today's political sensitivities on a past audience that viewed the world far differently are incorrect and unfair in their assessment.

In the mid-19th century British subjects did not perceive imperialism as negative. They viewed it as a magnanimous gesture-that they were extending the blessings that had made their nation great to less-fortunate peoples around the globe. Indeed the British Empire provided many blessings to the peoples who became part of the empire.

Another criticism-this one accurate-aimed at British-Israel advocates is that some of their proponents incorporated racism into their beliefs. Prejudicial racist views have tarnished their reasoning, thus discrediting the historical aspects of their teachings.

This is both regrettable and biblically unacceptable. Racial bigotry is most definitely not what the Bible teaches. God is not the author of such a point of view. He loves all people and commands us to do the same. The central issues we need to consider are whether many of the descendants of the 10 tribes of Israel reside in the British-descended nations today and, if so, what God expects of them.

Focusing on the biblical promises, some scholars have undertaken extensive research to advance the knowledge that God's promised blessings to Abraham's descendants have largely been fulfilled in the British and American peoples. Although many have contributed to the basic research, here are a few people who have made significant contributions to the advancement of this area of study.

John Wilson, Anglican layman from Cheltenham, England, published Our Israelitish Origin in 1840. This work was the first full-blown thesis connecting the Anglo-Saxons to ancient Israel. Wilson drew on the best of contemporary scholarship and methodology. He made particular use of the work of Sharon Turner (1768-1847), a monumental figure in British historiography whose multivolume work, The History of the Anglo-Saxons, traces the Anglo-Saxons back through Europe to the Balkan countries and ultimately to the Crimea and Caucasus Mountains-exactly what we would expect according to 2 Kings 17:6 and 1 Chronicles 5:26.

I about lost my breakfast when an entangled Floyd Rose and Perlean Griffin assaulted my eyes on the front page of The Blade! What in the world? Why is The Blade catering to such self-righteous crusaders?

Rose, like other race hustlers, sees the bogey-man of "racism" everywhere, since it enables him to feel smug and demand attention. Yet he is proof of racism against white people, since he shamefully supports Perlean Griffin (who falsely accused Toledo Mayor Carty Finkbeiner of being a "racist," for demoting her haughty self when he is the man who hired her to serve in both his administrations) who is hiding behind the color of her skin to "advance" her own selfish agenda at the expense of Toledo and any credibility her former office might have enjoyed. Unrepentant Perlean Griffin has proven the stereotype true about such "affirmative action" hires. Mayor Finkbeiner should have never given her a job in the first place. We can all see how it has backfired on him and cost Toledo.

When Rose used to stink up Toledo with his racist rabble rousing, I opposed his misguided and ignorant attack against apartheid in South Africa. Rose, and other useful idiots for the godless African National Congress, should be sentenced to live in South Africa today, suffering the consequences of their vile actions, as South Africa has plummeted from the peace and prosperity every color and creed enjoyed under white rule, contrary to liberal media propaganda. Black mismanagement (to put it politely) is fast ruining South Africa, even as Rhodesia is now in ruins as Zimbabwe. Just look at Detroit and get the picture.

At his black rally, Floyd Rose "spoke about the ills facing Toledo's black community: the firing of Ms. Griffin as the executive director of the city's Office of Affirmative Action/Contract Compliance, and the lack of businesses along Dorr Street owned by African-Americans, which he said was once considered a 'black mecca.'" He also spoke about "oppression."

Why the undue focus on race? Aren't we all Toledoans? What if a white leader spoke of a "white mecca"? The racist NAACP would have howls of protest, wouldn't they? And who is "oppressing" black people from owning their own businesses? The "oppression" is clearly all in their own minds, again playing the well worn role of "victim." Besides, economic poverty is often symptomatic of a spiritual bankruptcy.

Let Floyd Rose dedicate himself to change the ghetto-mentality, to help free folks from the chains of victimhood, to empty the degenerate projects, to attack the real - not imaginary or exaggerated - evils in this world, and earn some respect.

There has been, as with every group or organization that undergoes changes, strong disagreements on how best to continue with what we are convicted is the plain truth of the Bible, but we all basically agree on our foundational doctrines.

Genetic testing has demonstrated that white people of Europe are not descendants of the 12 tribes of Israel.

The Sabbath-keeping Church of God recognizes that fickle DNA studies aren't to be trusted more than the stable Word of God that foretold the many biblical birthmarks of fulfilled prophecies the Anglo-Saxon and white peoples of Northwestern Europe have alone fulfilled.
